Joni Berner is the founder of Berner Klaw & Watson LLP, a law firm with seven attorneys who practice all aspects of family law in Southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including prenuptial agreements, divorce, custody, support, protection from abuse, adoption, dependency, GLBTQ relationship and dissolution agreements, and international custody and divorce matters. The firm also handles a limited number of personal injury cases arising out of family issues such as domestic violence or child sexual abuse. Ms. Berner and her two partners are also trained divorce and custody mediators.
Ms. Berner has a bachelor’s degree in international politics from Cedar Crest College and a juris doctorate from Villanova University School of Law. She is active in the Philadelphia, Delaware County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. She served as chair of the Philadelphia Family Law Section and as co-chair of the Philadelphia Lawyer Referral and Information Service. She has lectured regularly on a wide variety of family law topics and has a keen interest in the intersection of mental health and family law. She has served on the boards of a number of other organizations including the Women’s Law Project, Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent and the Villanova Law School Alumnae Advisory
